Postpartum Care
Regardless of where you have your baby, we believe you deserve comprehensive postpartum care. Certified Professional Midwives are trained to care for both the birthing parent and the newborn for the first six weeks postpartum. We believe in a more frequent postpartum visit schedule than is typical for obstetrical care in the U.S. At each appointment, we will check you and your baby's vital signs, weigh the baby, offer infant feeding advice if needed, and discuss how you're feeling. We're also available to discuss your birth experience and process any feelings you may be having related to your pregnancy, birth and parenting journey. We're not therapists, but we have a lot of experiences working with new families. Appointments with your midwife are typically 45 to 60 minutes long. Your midwife will take the time to assess both you and your baby, and most importantly - answer your questions!

The Postpartum Package.

Our time together begins while you're still pregnant. We meet once in your third trimester to discuss your plans for your upcoming birth, postpartum support and your feeding goals. When your baby is born, we'll come to visit you while you're still in the hospital. Following your discharge, we'll see each other four more times, twice at your home and twice at my office. You'll also be able to contact us by phone or text during the postpartum period with questions about you or your baby.
​​Postpartum visits typically take place on the following schedule:

• 24 - 36 hours after your baby is born (at the hospital)
• 3 - 5 days after your baby is born (in your home)
• 2 weeks after your baby is born (in your home)
• 4 weeks after your baby is born (in our office)
• 6 weeks after your baby is born (in our office) ​

Cost.

Transparency about expenses is important to me. If you have questions, please ask!

• I have a self-determined fee scale of $1100 to $1500. Payment plans are available.
• I accept Badgercare, HSA/FSA, payment plans, cash, check, and payment apps.​
